Holidaymakers who find themselves spending most of their time in the pub wherever they travel to might just want to get their annual beer fix in one go at Oktoberfest in
Munich.
The world's biggest beer festival rears its tipsy head this year at the Theresienwiese between September 22nd and October 7th, promising two weeks of all the ale you can drink as well as a plethora of German dishes to sample.
In total, 14 tents will be set up at this year's Oktoberfest, each offering a different atmosphere and a variety of food and drink to choose from, meaning that there's a tent for everyone.
The Hofbrau Festhalle is perhaps the most popular with visitors to
Munich. It takes on a decidedly cosmopolitan feel with Americans and Austrians in particular flocking to the tent to enjoy a traditional Bavarian lunch with their one litre glasses of beer.
For those who prefer wine to beer, the Weinzelt tent offers an array of still and sparkling wines and champagne, while revellers looking for an alternative to the endless sausage dishes available might want to head for the Fischer Vroni, a tent selling all kinds of fish delicacies.
Parades, parties and other events also take place throughout the festival, ensuring that there's always something to do whether it is day or night.
