Aer Arann has announced that the period between July 30th and August 3rd marked its busiest ever week.
Almost 30,000 people flew with the airline last week, with flights via
Dublin proving to be the most popular, it said.
Destinations such as
Cork,
Galway and
Waterford also saw relatively high levels of air traffic, while the number of passengers flying from UK locations such as
Manchester and
Birmingham also rose.
"We are delighted that Aer Arann passenger figures reached an all-time high this week," commented Colin Lewis, head of sales and marketing at
Aer Arann.
He added: "This news is a great follow up to last month's announcement that Aer Arann [is] now the third largest operator at Dublin Airport."
Earlier this year, the carrier launched six new routes between destinations in
Ireland, the UK and
France, a move that coincided with the introduction of new ATR 72-500 aircraft.
