The Czech city of
Prague is proving particularly popular for Britons arranging hen and stag parties, according to one expert.
Carol Richardson of wedding website Confetti said that short-haul destinations in
Europe are increasingly being used as locations for such outings as they are places that travellers can access "quickly and cheaply".
She revealed that a few intrepid brides and grooms-to-be are heading as far afield as the
USA for their pre-nuptial celebrations, but noted that Europe is still among the most popular options.
"It's mostly European cities [and] European destinations, because it's much quicker to get there," Ms Richardson commented.
She added: "It's becoming a much bigger thing, so it's now the whole weekend, not just the evening."
Earlier this month, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office released a report that showed the
Czech Republic to be one of the countries that requires the largest amount of consular assistance for incidents such as lost passports and hospitalisations.
