Half of all holidaymakers would love to take a trip to Richard Branson's holiday home in the
Virgin Islands, according to a new poll.
The survey by holidaylettings.co.uk has revealed that 49 per cent of British travellers place the
Virgin Atlantic founder's retreat on Necker Island top of the list of the most desirable
celebrity holiday home getaways.
George Clooney's plush Lake Como villa in
Italy came a close second with 47 per cent of the vote, while Prince Charles' Welsh holiday home got just four per cent.
The poll also found that many Brits continue to take British favourites such as tea and Marmite on holiday with them, while a tech-obsessed 84 per cent always take their mobiles and 26 per cent opt for mp3 players.
"These results make interesting reading for the thousands of holiday homeowners out there," commented Ross Elder, managing director of holidaylettings.co.uk.
However, Brits looking to take their favourite piece of
technology away with them should be wary of how they store their batteries - the Civil Aviation Authority recently warned passengers than incorrect storage of batteries onboard flights could pose a potential hazard if they are accidentally activated.
