Domestic flights 'beneficial for Brits'
Using domestic flights to travel across the UK holds a number of benefits for travellers, an expert at British Airways has said.
Such advantages include quicker journey times compared with other travel methods and the ability to connect more conveniently with flights to other parts of the world, such as flying from Edinburgh to Heathrow Airport, before heading to Singapore.
"Additionally, passengers can either relax at the airport or take the opportunity to work prior to flights," the spokesperson commented.
However, he conceded that a reported two per cent drop in domestic flight traffic as recorded by the Civil Aviation Authority may be due to the increases in air passenger duty implemented earlier this year.
British Airways offers domestic flights to locations such as Manchester, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Londonderry, the Isle of Man and Newquay, as well as the three main London airports, through subsidiaries, franchises and codeshares with airlines such as Aer Lingus.
