British
families heading abroad for the summer holidays are becoming "more adventurous" when picking a destination, according to one expert.
Lucy Ace, managing director of holiday advice website Take The Family, said that while the likes of
Spain and
Italy offer "a winning formula" for parents looking for breaks that will cater to the needs of children, other countries are becoming increasingly popular with families.
"At Christmas and the New Year places like the Seychelles are fabulous, especially as jet lag is kept to a minimum," she commented.
Ms Ace added that for the more adventurous types, destinations such as
South America, the
Far East,
Jordan and
Egypt may particularly appeal.
More than two-thirds of parents believe that taking the kids to overseas destination is a cheaper option than staying in the UK, according to a recent survey by Mothercare and Mother & Baby Magazine.
