Fun of the fair in Frankfurt

Those catching a flight to Frankfurt next month may wish to take in the entertainment offered at the Autumn Dippe Fair.

It is the final big fair before winter sets in and those in Frankfurt for the start of September can catch all the action between Friday September 7th and Monday September 17th.

A fireworks display opens and closes the event, but in between there is much to keep all the family busy.

Carousels and roller-coasters will fill the city's Festplatz am Ratsweg area, throwing up some treats for fun-seekers everywhere.

Meanwhile, for the more laid back visitors, there will be plenty of food and drink to taste on the fair's numerous stalls.

The Auftakt Festival is also soon to start in Frankfurt, devoting itself to contemporary music.

Various concerts will take place from the end of August until the start of October, mainly in the city's Alte Oper.
