American Airlines has announced that its second daily flight between
Stansted Airport and JFK Airport in
New York will begin on October 28th.
The carrier's marketing executive vice president, Dan Garton, said that the new service, along with upcoming flights from
Milan and
Barcelona to New York, will help to show the airline's dedication to New York "as an important international gateway".
Boeing 767-300 aircraft will be used on all of the new routes and will offer business and economy class seats to passengers,
American Airlines stated.
"Adding Barcelona, Milan and London Stansted will greatly benefit our New York customers, as well as those who connect to these flights from elsewhere," Mr Garton commented.
Earlier this month, the carrier announced that it is to test a broadband service in partnership with
technology firm AirCell on certain of its
US flights from next year.
If the trial proves successful, passengers travelling across the country with the airline will be able to surf the web and check their email using laptops and PDAs while in the air.
