Officials at
Stansted Airport are set to welcome the hub's first direct
flight to Los Angeles when
MAXjet launches the service on Thursday (August 30th).
The
business class airline, which announced the new service in May, will fly non-stop between the two destinations four times a week.
It will also boost the number of services it operates to
Las Vegas from Stansted by starting a new Sunday flight from September 2nd.
"Heathrow is the only other UK airport with direct flights to Los Angeles, so this new non-stop link is one we're delighted to welcome to our growing route network to the US from Stansted," commented Nick Barton, business development and planning director at Stansted Airport.
MAXjet currently operates a number of other
US flights from Stansted Airport, including a year-round service to
Washington and flights to JFK Airport in
New York, which take place every day except on Sundays.
