Silverjet has announced details of the launch of its second flight between
Luton Airport and
New York (Newark).
The
business-class airline said that the daily service will begin on September 23rd and will use Boeing 767 aircraft to transport passengers to and from the Big Apple.
This means that holidaymakers and business travellers will now be able to take advantage of extra afternoon departures from Luton Airport, as well as the current morning flights.
"We are … in the pleasing position of being able to announce the launch of our second service on September 23rd, putting Silverjet in a strong position to accelerate the growth of the business," commented Silverjet chief executive Lawrence Hunt.
The airline announced in July that the introduction of the new service would be delayed due to the need for extra maintenance work on the aircraft to be used.
