Dutch carrier
KLM has announced that passengers flying to all of its destinations can now take advantage of its
e-ticketing scheme.
E-tickets can be used on flights to any of its 124 destinations and with its 72 interline partners, the airline said.
Those holding e-tickets will only have to show the relevant identity documents at check-in because the data on the tickets is stored on the carrier's database during the reservation process.
KLM also said that it is aiming to issue e-tickets only from January 1st 2008. Currently, 89 per cent of all of its tickets are electronic.
"An e-ticket cannot be lost or stolen, because it is always safely listed under the passenger's name in our computer systems. Soon everyone will travel on an e-ticket, regardless of whether they buy it online or via a travel agency," commented Martijn van der Zee, vice president of distribution and e-commerce for KLM.
KLM offers flights from
London to destinations such as
Amsterdam,
Chicago,
Cairo,
Dubai and
Tokyo.
