Flights operated by
SAS between
London City Airport and
Copenhagen have been cancelled until September 14th.
Following two accidents involving Dash 8-400 (Q400) aircraft earlier this month, the airline has taken the precaution of grounding all flights involving this type of plane.
The flights affected also involve those flying from
Stockholm to
Dusseldorf,
Riga,
Hamburg and
Tallinn, the Local reports.
Passengers who have booked seats with the airline for this week have been urged to get in touch with their local SAS office to check whether their flights are affected and whether a replacement service or a different route is available.
"We are reallocating capacity so that travellers will still reach their destinations. We are re-routing some flights, as well as using buses and trains," commented Lars Andersen, spokesman for
SAS.
The carrier's first flights between London City Airport and
Oslo, which run twice a day, began at the end of last month.
