German carrier
Air Berlin has announced that it is to launch flights between
Stansted Airport and
Munich later this year.
Beginning on November 5th, the new service will include twice-daily flights on weekdays, with the weekends seeing one a day.
The flights will take off from Stansted at 08:20 GMT and 19:15 GMT during the week, while weekend services will depart at 08:20 GMT on Saturday and 19:15 GMT on Sunday.
"Munich is the ninth Air Berlin direct German destination from the UK … This is an important new route which many of our customers have been waiting for," commented Titus Johnson, UK and Ireland country manager for Air Berlin.
The carrier also flies to destinations such as
Frankfurt,
Zurich,
Milan,
Barcelona and
Dusseldorf from its UK bases.
Last month, the BBC reported that Air Berlin will pull its service between Stansted and
Belfast on October 29th.
