UK airlines came out on top in a number of categories during the recent 2007 Business Traveller Awards, it has been revealed.
British Airways was voted first in the categories of best airline, best short-haul carrier, best economy class and best frequent flyer programme at the ceremony in London yesterday.
Readers of Business Traveller magazine also voted
Virgin Atlantic as their favourite carrier for its business class and
premium economy class offerings, while
bmi appeared in the top four airline list for the best short-haul carrier and best frequent flyer programme categories.
Meanwhile,
Singapore Airlines went away with the accolades of best long-haul carrier and best first class, while its home hub, Singapore Changi, was voted the
best airport in the world.
In related news,
Virgin Atlantic scooped the title of best business airline at the recent Travel Trade Gazette awards, while
Liverpool John Lennon came first in the category of best airport.
