Holidaymakers looking to take a UK break with several friends might be interested to know that
London has won an award for its group-friendly attractions.
The capital scooped the title of Best UK City at the Group Leisure Industry Awards last week, making it the sixth time
London has won the honour since the awards began in 1997.
James Bidwell, chief executive of tourism organisation Visit London, said the award was an honour for the city and reflected the "ever-changing" nature of its attractions.
"There are always new attractions, theatre shows, exhibitions and events to keep group visitors entertained," he commented.
Rob Yandell, managing editor of Group Leisure magazine, added: "London is one of the world's leading cities and right up there as one of my personal favourites."
Attractions and activities that may be of interest to those travelling in groups include exploring London through areas such as Camden, Islington and Notting Hill, shopping at the city's boutiques and markets, and visiting outdoor spaces such as Kew Gardens.
