Lufthansa has announced plans to double its flight offerings between
Newcastle and
Dusseldorf later this year.
From November 5th, passengers will be able to benefit from two flights between the two locations every weekday, with one flight on Saturdays and Sundays.
The airline said that its revised timings will also help travellers to connect with flights to destinations such as
Budapest,
Stockholm and
Vienna more quickly than previously, as well as making visits more convenient for both leisure and
business travellers.
Marianne Sammann, UK and Ireland general manager for
Lufthansa, explained: "The new morning flight will leave Newcastle at 09:40 GMT, arriving in Dusseldorf just after midday - freeing up the afternoon for either business meetings or sightseeing for visitors to the city."
Last week, the carrier announced that it is to launch a new twice-daily flight between
London City Airport and
Berlin in January 2008.
