Tourism officials in New York state are set to attend an industry event with the aim of encouraging more Britons to visit the area.
The New York state division of tourism has said that it is going to take its biggest ever delegation to the World Travel Market 2007 to persuade more UK holidaymakers to fly to the state and sample its numerous attractions.
New York state director of international marketing Markly Wilson said that recent research carried out in the UK has shown that there is potential to get Britons to expand their horizons beyond
New York City and visit other regions within the state.
"More and more UK visitors are combining a visit to New York City with travel upstate and enjoying the scenic beauty, food and wine, fishing and outdoor activities that we have to offer," he explained.
Locations that may be of interest to those
flying to New York include the Great Lakes, Long Island, Seneca Falls and Susquehanna.
