Silverjet has announced that its second daily service between
Luton Airport and
New York began over the weekend.
The
premium-only carrier said that the first flight of the service took off on time and successfully carried 61 passengers between the destinations, arriving in the Big Apple at 19:45 local time on September 23rd.
"We expect the service to strongly appeal to our American customers as it will allow them to visit London and return on the same day without the need to spend the night in the city; it will also give added frequency to our offering, which we expect will attract more business air travellers," commented
Silverjet chief executive Lawrence Hunt.
The airline also confirmed that its forthcoming
business class flights to Dubai will be operated with the Boeing 767 aircraft that it received earlier this month. These planes feature 100 beds measuring six feet and three inches long.
Customers who fly with Silverjet can take advantage of a 30-minute check-in procedure, one crew member for every ten passengers and chauffeur services.
