Festive frolics in Toronto
Holidaymakers planning a pre-Christmas break might want to head to Toronto for the famous Santa Claus Parade.
Taking place on November 18th, the parade has been an important event in the city for more than 100 years and attracts hundreds of thousands of spectators every year. The parade begins on the corner of Bloor Street and Christie Street and heads west and south before finishing on the corner of Front Street and Church Street.
Visitors to the city can expect to see marching bands galore, thousands of costumed parade participants, clowns and, of course, numerous colourfully decorated floats. Previous float designs have seen giant polar bears, trains and the cast of Scooby Doo make their way through Toronto as part of the parade.
The main attraction of the show - Santa Claus - appears on a massive float complete with all of his reindeer and elves, as well as the presents that he has to deliver.
For holidaymakers heading to the city for a few days - whether it's via economy or business class flights to Toronto - there are plenty of attractions and events to entertain all the family before and after the parade.
Take a look at the Santa Claus Parade website for more details.
