Emirates is celebrating after receiving three awards for its
inflight offerings at the recent World Airline Entertainment Association (WAEA) Avion Awards ceremony in Toronto.
The airline bagged the titles of Best Inflight Entertainment System in the World for fleets bigger than 25 aircraft and Best Inflight Entertainment in the Middle East.
It also won the Best Inflight Entertainment Achievement award for screening all of last year's World Cup matches just hours after the games finished and offering live score updates.
"We are very pleased that the industry and, importantly, our customers are recognising our efforts to provide the best possible inflight entertainment in the skies," commented Mike Simon, divisional senior vice president of Corporate Communications at Emirates.
British Airways also scooped the title of Best Inflight Entertainment in Europe at the awards ceremony, while
Singapore Airlines won the equivalent accolade for the Asia and Australia region.
The winners of the awards were decided through a SkyTrax survey of more than 36,000 air passengers across the globe.
