Holidaymakers looking to find a truly unique gift or two while away might want to check out the annual Christkindlmarkt in
Vienna this winter.
Taking place between November 17th and December 23rd in Rathausplatz (the square outside the city hall), this magical market offers a host of goods, delicacies and activities perfect for families wanting to indulge in some
Christmas shopping abroad.
Handmade toys, sugary treats and mulled wine are all on offer to shoppers searching for the ideal present, while children can enjoy pony rides, merry-go-rounds, a reindeer train journey and a Christmas market, among other activities.
A music concert and a comedy show are also on hand to provide entertainment for shopped-out adults at the market.
Vienna has plenty to offer visitors outside of the Christkindlmarkt - you could take a look at the beautiful St Stephen's Cathedral, stroll around the gardens at Belvedere Palace or take a ride on the city's giant wheel.
Check out the
Christkindlmarkt website for more information.
