Virgin Atlantic is set to launch its new route between
Heathrow Airport and
Mauritius this weekend.
The twice-weekly non-stop flights will start on October 28th and run every Friday and Sunday, with passengers able to buy tickets for economy,
premium economy and first class (Upper Class) seats.
To celebrate the arrival of the first flight on this route, the Mauritius Airport Fire Brigade will conduct a special water salute and a local Creole band will provide music as travellers leave the plane.
"I am really excited that Virgin Atlantic is to serve this beautiful island, our first destination in the Indian Ocean," commented Andrew Fyfe, regional manager of the Middle East and Indian Ocean for
Virgin.
"Mauritius offers a range of relaxing spa centres and elegant hotels. Passengers will be spoilt for choice by the range of top-class hotels, fine dining opportunities, excellent water sports and world-class golf courses on this tropical paradise."
The airline recently announced that it is to open a new Upper Class Wing at Heathrow Airport Terminal 3 on November 2nd.
Passengers taking advantage of this new facility will be able to pass from their limo to the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse
lounge in less than ten minutes, the carrier claimed.
