New American Airlines flights 'cause for celebration'

The recent launch of a new daily American Airlines service between Stansted Airport and New York is a "particular cause for celebration".

This is according to a spokesperson for Stansted Airport, who said that the new route - due to be bumped up to two services a day in April next year - will "perfectly" complement existing business class flights to New York currently operated by MAXjet and Eos Airlines.

He added that all three carriers have seen "significantly increased bookings" since the US dollar plunged to its lowest point against the pound in 26 years.

"MAXjet recently announced that business is booming for the business class-only airline - it has more than doubled its number of passengers in a year," the spokesperson remarked.

The first flight of the new American Airlines route touched down at Stansted on October 29th. Hollywood star Christian Slater cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony at the hub.
