Far East 'popular for honeymoons'
The "out of this world" five-star hotels make the Far East a popular destination for those heading off on their honeymoons, according to an online marriage service.
Internet portal hitched.co.uk suggests that Dubai is also a decent option for newlyweds and often becomes a stopover for those on their way to the Far East.
Francesca Moore, a spokesperson from hitched.co.uk, said: "[A popular] option is twin-centre honeymoons, so people have a city break for a few days, maybe in Dubai or Singapore, and then go on to the big destination for a beach holiday."
Research from Mintel, which was reported last year in the Telegraph, suggested that between £500 million and £600 million is spent each year on honeymoons.
According to the research group, newlyweds spend an average of around £3,000 on their post-wedding trips, while an average of £205 goes towards the first-night hotel.
