A new service between
Gatwick Airport and
Muscat has been launched this week by
Oman Air.
The daily non-stop flights, which take off from the North Terminal at Gatwick, represent the 24th destination for the national airline and come in addition to existing services from
British Airways and
Gulf Air, Travel Connect reports.
Passengers heading to
Muscat can also take advantage of onward connections to locations such as
Mumbai,
New Delhi and
Karachi, among others.
"A national carrier flying into the UK will increase consumer awareness of the destination and add to the variety of routes on offer via our neighbour states," commented Alison Cryer of the Oman Tourist Office UK & Ireland.
Muscat is home to the third biggest mosque in the world and offers other attractions such as the Mutrah souk, the Qasr Al Alam Royal Palace and the Al Jalali and Al Mirani forts.
