More families look set to go away on seven-night breaks than more traditional 14-night holidays next year, according to new research.
This could be a key signifier of changing travel trends among Britons, the study by Ascent-MI, conducted ahead of the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) Travel Convention, indicated.
In addition, the report found that destinations such as
Greece,
Turkey and
Portugal proved particularly popular with travellers in summer 2007, Travelmole reports.
Other findings from the survey included the discovery that just 30 per cent of holidaymakers comprise families, with nearly one in four
family breaks being taken by groups of at least five travellers.
"Peoples' holiday habits are certainly changing," commented Sarah Smalley, commercial director at Ascent-MI.
Frances Tuke of ABTA said earlier this month that
Spain is set to be the top destination for holidaymakers this Christmas, partly due to growing numbers of Britons owning a holiday home in the country.
