Holidaymakers thinking of travelling to
Paris next year might want to make sure they catch the annual Carnaval de Paris on February 3rd.
This colourful event, organised by the Paris Carnival Company, takes place in the eastern part of the city and sees a colourful costumed parade make its way from the Rue Vau to the Avenue Victoria.
The parade is led by a gloriously attired Limousine cow, the carnival mascot, and follows the theme of La Ronde des Beaux Arts (the round of beautiful arts).
Every year, the streets of
Paris are packed with adults and children alike hoping to catch a glimpse of this spectacular parade.
And if you're planning on staying in
Paris for a few days longer after the Carnaval de Paris, why not see how Parisians celebrate the Chinese new year in the Chinatown district?
This event also sees another parade take to the streets - but this time led by a dragon, rather than a cow.
For more information on the Carnaval de Paris, check out the website of the
Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau.
