UK carrier
British Airways has displayed its brand new Club World cabin to travellers in Shanghai.
The new travel class, which will become available on
flights to Beijing and
Shanghai from London next year, was shown off at the Westgate Mall in China's capital city over the weekend.
Some of the features of the new
business class cabin include six-foot beds capable of lying fully flat and taking a zero-gravity 'z' position, electronically-operated privacy screens, a revamped inflight entertainment system, and a new Club World kitchen that offers snacks between
meals.
"We are ... seeing increasing numbers of leisure travellers opting to upgrade to Club World and enjoy the feeling of five-star pampering and luxury in their personal time," commented Sara Janine Thorley, China manager for
British Airways.
The new cabin is currently available on services from
London to
Hong Kong, with the Bangkok Post recently reporting that the new Club World has just become available on British Airways' route to
Bangkok.
