A record number of travellers flew with
Silverjet in November, new figures have revealed.
The
premium-only airline stated that it had seen a significant number of customers return to buy further flights, with its
New York route being particularly popular over the course of the month.
In addition, the carrier's new
Dubai route got off to a flying start after its launch last month,
Silverjet chief executive Lawrence Hunt commented.
"The launch of our Dubai service has exceeded management's expectations and feedback from customers and the media has been outstanding, in particular the reaction to our private terminal experience and revolutionary 30-minute check-in," he explained.
Silverjet also announced that it has agreed to buy two Boeing 767
long-haul planes capable of flying to destinations such as
Delhi,
Johannesburg,
Mauritius,
Shanghai and
Los Angeles, in addition to operating on its current
Dubai and
New York routes.
Last month, the carrier received the accolade of Best Airline 2007 at the Sunday Times Travel Magazine Experts Awards 2007 and won an award in the Best Executive Transport category at Esquire's 2007 Man At The Top Awards.
