South African carrier
Nationwide Airlines has started up its service between
Gatwick Airport and
Johannesburg again following disruption due to concerns over aircraft.
The airline resumed the flights over the weekend after the South African Civil Aviation Authority gave its Boeing 767 planes the all-clear.
Service between the two destinations was halted at the end of November following queries that arose during routine maintenance checks.
"I cannot apologise enough to our customers for the inconvenience, frustration and anxiety they have experienced as a result of the disruption to our normal service," commented Nationwide chief executive Vernon Bricknell.
The airline additionally announced the resumption of its domestic flights between
Johannesburg and
Cape Town on Sunday (December 9th). Nationwide also operates local services to
Durban and
Port Elizabeth, among other locations.
Internationally, the carrier manages a number of
flights to Atlanta and
Paris, in addition to its
London service.
