Singapore Airlines wins first class prize

Singapore Airlines wins first class prize
Singapore Airlines has won an award from an Australian magazine for its first class offerings to passengers.

Luxury Travel Magazine's Gold List 2008 saw survey respondents pick the carrier over the likes of Emirates and British Airways in the category of Best First Class Airline.

Qantas, meanwhile, picked up an award for its business class flights, with Singapore Airlines in second place in the Best Business Class category.

The awards also saw Paris win the accolade of Best City ahead of New York and London, while the Peninsula in Hong Kong came out on top as the best hotel located overseas.

Luxury Travel Magazine editor-in-chief Hilary Doling commented: "The response to our survey shows that each year we demand a greater level of luxury and style from the hotels we choose to stay in."

Singapore Airlines recently received the title of Best Airline In The World from Business Traveler Magazine.
