Swiss International Air Lines has announced that it will increase the number of flights operating on its route between
Manchester and
Basel next week.
Passengers will be able to take advantage of the extra service from December 22nd, increasing the total number of flights on the route to five a week.
The airline said the increase comes after strong demand for seats between the two destinations, prompting it to add a Saturday service.
"As of December 22nd, Swiss customers have five weekly connections to choose from, with flights available on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday,"
Swiss said in a statement.
Attractions in
Basel - which is famous for its cultural and historical sights - include its spectacular cathedral, the Pfalz terrace above the River Rhine, Rhine Port, the Fondation Beyeler art gallery and the Tinguely Museum.
The city benefits from the warmest climate to be found in
Switzerland, according to Basel Tourismus.
