A new 24-hour bus service travelling from Harlow, Sawbridgeworth and Bishop's Stortford to
Stansted Airport has been announced.
The 510 service will increase its frequency to enable passengers in the local area to benefit from eight extra journeys every day from January 7th 2008.
This means that flyers will be able to catch the bus every 20 minutes during the day and every 30 or 60 minutes during evenings and Sundays, allowing them to catch late night and early morning flights.
"Stansted Airport is very much a 24-hour business and it is only right that, where possible, we look to provide 24-hour public transport services to meet the needs of both our staff and passengers," commented Nicola Hooper, head of airline relationships and transport at
Stansted.
A public inquiry is currently underway regarding the proposed construction of a second runway at the hub, which would help the airport serve about 35 million flyers every year.
