Holidaymakers looking for a fun winter break might want to catch a
flight to Dubrovnik for the Croatian city's annual carnival.
The International Dubrovnik Carnival attracts crowds of spectators every year as participants dress up in the most eye-catching way possible and take to the streets for the ultimate outdoor party.
Running between February 2nd and 5th, the event will include various masked parades for both adults and children, a masked children's ball and a fashion show involving old costumes found stashed away in local residents' homes.
On the final day of the carnival, visitors to
Dubrovnik can expect to see a special musical and theatrical performance by the Porporela Association in front of St Blaise's Church, culminating in celebrations at the City Cafe and Marin Drzic Theatre.
Dubrovnik is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and boasts a wide array of historical and cultural attractions, as well as beaches and numerous areas of natural beauty.
