Britons looking to take advantage of bargains in the new year sales might want to hop on a
flight to the USA in January.
According to a spokesperson for
Stansted Airport, January represents the perfect time to benefit from the double whammy of a weak dollar and post-Christmas sales.
However, travellers should not restrict flying across the Atlantic for retail therapy to just one time of the year, he added, going on to state that there are now direct, regular links to
New York,
Washington,
Las Vegas and
Los Angeles year-round.
"With Stansted providing direct links to four of the most popular cities ... and access to virtually unlimited connections across the states, visiting the US couldn't be easier at any time of the year," the spokesperson stated.
The British pound climbed to a 26-year high against the dollar last month, with sterling breaking the $2.10 level.
