Passengers on
British Airways' Accra to London economy class route can now take double the checked-in baggage with them on their trips, it has emerged.
This equates to 46 kilos in two pieces, which will benefit the thousands of passengers who use the
Africa to UK service each year.
Business class passengers will be able to carry up to 60 kilos of checked-in luggage, to bring things in line with the luggage policy for other
BA services to
Africa, including the Lagos-London route.
According to the African Echo, this information was made clear by BA's head of Africa and Europe affairs Pat Gaffey in an interview with the Graphic in London.
"With other airlines having increased baggage charges, the extent of our free baggage allowances remains very generous especially to our Ghanaian travellers," said Mr Gaffey.
"We understand that there are times when one will need to exceed this limit. Therefore, from now, a flat fee of £25 will be applied to bags weighing more than 23kg."
Tunisia, Zimbawe and
South Africa are a selection of African destinations BA also flies to.
