UK airline
Virgin Atlantic has won an
award for its new Upper Class Wing at
Heathrow Airport.
The carrier received the title of Fastest Airport Check-In at the Wallpaper Awards earlier this week. Virgin Atlantic claims that passengers using the Upper Class Wing upon arrival can get to the Virgin Clubhouse in at least three minutes.
Opened in November 2007, the facility includes a dedicated security channel and drive-through check-in for those arriving at the hub by car.
"Since the Upper Class Wing opened in November, our Upper Class passengers have been bowled over by how quickly they can get through to our Clubhouse from arriving at the airport," commented Steve Ridgway, chief executive of
Virgin Atlantic.
Virgin Atlantic's Upper Class tickets for its
business class flights enables access to facilities such as a chauffeur-driven car service, a fully-flat bed, use of the onboard bar and a guest seat for meetings and entertaining.
