Travellers flying with
Silverjet can now take two pieces of hand luggage onto flights, it has been announced.
The
business class carrier has amended its policy in line with recent changes to rules set out by the Department for Transport, which have been adopted by a number of airports and airlines.
Previously, passengers could only take one piece of hand luggage onboard flights. Silverjet's new rules apply to all customers taking a
business class flight to New York or
Dubai from
Luton Airport.
"The news is expected to be of particular benefit to Silverjet's many business travellers, who on average only travel with two items of baggage," the carrier said in a statement.
Not all airlines and airports have implemented the changed guidelines. Passengers have therefore been advised to check with the relevant carrier before flying.
Airports where the one-bag rule no longer applies include
Heathrow,
Manchester,
Edinburgh and
London City airports, among others.
