Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has announced plans to launch an extra daily service between
Heathrow Airport and
Copenhagen later this year.
The new flights will operate between March 30th and October 24th, taking the total number of services operated by the airline between the two destinations to seven a day.
It is traditionally difficult for carriers to secure extra slots at Heathrow Airport, making this expansion particularly welcome, Lars-Ove Filipson of
SAS remarked.
"In recent years it has become increasingly difficult for airlines to add additional Heathrow routes to their networks and so typically service expansion depends on the introduction of larger aircraft which SAS has also implemented on its services to Scandinavia," he commented.
Copenhagen offers a number of attractions and sights for visitors, including the world's longest pedestrian street, the Little Mermaid statue, Tivoli Gardens, Kronborg Castle, the National Museum and the Viking Ship Museum.
