British Airways has announced that it expects to operate all of its long-haul flights from
Heathrow Airport today (January 18th) following yesterday's crash landing incident.
The carrier also said that up to 90 per cent of its short-haul services will also take off as normal, but said that all passengers should check with the airline before setting off for the airport.
Some inbound flights will be cancelled, while services to and from Gatwick Airport will run as normal. Queues have been reported at Terminal 1, but the south runway, which was closed for two hours yesterday, has been reopened.
Passengers who were booked on flights that have now been cancelled can obtain a refund or rebook,
British Airways said. However, they should not travel to the airport in order to minimise congestion.
Yesterday, the airport received permission from the Department for Transport to operate certain night flights following the accident.
