Travellers in Ipswich will soon be able to take advantage of a new coach service linking the town with
Stansted Airport.
The service will be run by Excel Coaches and will represent the first direct link between the two points when it is launched on May 1st.
A single journey will cost £15, while a return trip will carry a £20 price tag. The coach will depart every two hours from the centre of Ipswich and head straight for the airport, taking one hour and 15 minutes to reach its destination.
"We believe this new coach service will be an attractive alternative for passengers travelling from Ipswich and will encourage them to use public transport to get to the airport rather than their car," commented Nicola Hooper, head of airline relationships and transport at
Stansted Airport.
Last year, new
flights to New York and
Manchester from Stansted Airport were launched by
American Airlines and
Eastern Airways respectively.
