Air passengers frustrated with delays at large hubs might want to try flying from a regional airport instead, according to
Aer Arann.
The Irish airline said it is continuing to support smaller airports in its own operations and highlighted the benefits of flying from a
regional airport for travellers.
It noted that road congestion could be reduced by making shorter journeys to local airports instead of driving longer distances to their larger counterparts and stressed that regional airports now serve a wide range of destinations.
Passengers can now catch
flights to Toronto,
Barcelona,
Amsterdam,
Vancouver and
Paris, among others, from certain regional airports.
"Regional airports provide quality service on your doorstep and there is no reason for travellers to put themselves through the unnecessary stress that is associated with capital city airports," commented Colin Lewis, head of sales and marketing at
Aer Arann.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority, passenger traffic at regional airports is growing at a faster rate than that at the main
London hubs.
