Travellers flying from
Manchester Airport can now take advantage of a brand new valet parking service.
For a fee of £7 a day, passengers can arrive at the airport's dedicated VIP enclosure at Terminal 1 and pass their car keys over to a team of valet parkers before entering the airport.
Vehicles are parked in a secure car park and are returned to the VIP area once the traveller is back from their trip.
Andy Cliffe, director of car parks for Manchester Airport, said the new service could prove beneficial for the
environment as it will cut down on the number of car trips being made to and from the airport as family and friends travel back and forth to drop off and pick up passengers.
"Obviously the best environmental solution is for people to come to the airport by public transport, but not everyone is able to or wants to travel by bus, train or tram," he commented.
"The next best option is to just make one return journey to the airport and that means providing car parking here at the airport."
Last month, it was announced that train operator TransPennine Express has started to lay on direct services from
Edinburgh, Glasgow and Carlisle to Manchester Airport.
