The number of British holidaymakers travelling to
Singapore is on the rise, according to new figures.
Statistics from the Singapore Tourism Board show that 496,000 UK travellers visited the Asian city-state last year, representing a 1.5 per cent increase compared with the previous year.
British visitors were found to stay for an average of 3.4 days in
Singapore, rising 3.1 per cent over 2006's equivalent length of stay.
Commenting on the overall visitor statistics, Divya Panickar of the Singapore Tourism Board Area said the organisation was "delighted" with the record-breaking year.
"It is particularly pleasing to see that more and more British holidaymakers are choosing to discover the unique delights and experiences that Singapore has to offer," she added.
Singapore's many attractions include superb shopping facilities, numerous museums and galleries, and events including the Singapore Arts Festival in the summer and the Vertical Marathon in November.
