Odd airport customs items revealed
Aberdeen Airport has revealed some of the oddest items found by its customs officers in the past.

Among these are a dead tiger, a parrot in a shoebox and a tarantula, with some of the strangest inanimate objects found in passengers' luggage including decorative throwing knives, a telescopic baton - which is now an illegal object - and a TNT alarm clock.

However, officials at the airport said that passengers are becoming savvier when it comes to knowing what they can and cannot take on or bring back from holiday with them, the Evening Express reports.

"Our security staff come across all sorts of weird and wonderful things on a daily basis - sometimes unusual and funny items - and sometimes dangerous objects or illegal weapons," Aberdeen Airport security standards and training officer Neil Fowler added.

Last year, Stansted Airport revealed that one female passenger had attempted to smuggle two chameleons in her pockets while passing through the hub.
