Double-destination honeymoons 'popular'

Double-destination honeymoons 'popular'
Honeymoons incorporating two destinations are becoming increasingly popular, according to one expert.

Such breaks allow newlyweds to indulge in two different holidays - such as an adventure break and a relaxing beach getaway - in one go, Francesca Moore of hitched.co.uk said.

Popular destinations for such holidays include Las Vegas, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, the Bahamas, Barbados and the Virgin Islands, she added.

"As airlines have stopover points, you can get two places in with just one flight," Ms Moore commented.

"So they're called two-centre destinations or twin-centre destinations."

Such holidays might also be ideal for loved-up couples considering a break for Valentine's Day, which falls on a Thursday this year - making it the ideal time for a long weekend break.

A recent survey by the US National Retail Federation suggested that consumers are looking to spend more time on money on their romantic gifts - which may include a weekend getaway - this year.
