Eos Airlines has announced that it is the carrier for punctuality between
London and
New York.
Basing its claim on figures from the Civil Aviation Authority, the
business class airline said that 69 per cent of its flights take off from the UK either on time or within 15 minutes of the scheduled time.
This is compared with figures of 65 per cent for
American Airlines, 50 per cent for
British Airways, 48 per cent for
Silverjet and 45 per cent for
Virgin Atlantic.
"Eos continues to lead the field among the major carriers offering service between London and New York," the airline said in a statement.
The carrier recently announced that it is launching a helicopter service for passengers taking a
business class flight to New York who want an easier way of returning to JFK Airport from Manhattan on the return leg.
A chopper service will be available for those with unrestricted tickets from the Downtown Manhattan Heliport or the East 34th Street Heliport to JFK Airport, taking just eight minutes to reach the hub.
