The number of British travellers visiting
Hong Kong has increased by 16 per cent, according to new figures.
Statistics released by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) show that more than 600,000 Britons visited the region last year, with a total of 28.1 million visitors from all over the world also recorded, Travelmole reports.
Anthony Lau, executive director at the HKTB, said
Hong Kong is likely to benefit from the Olympics in China later this year, as it is hosting certain equestrian events as part of the games.
He added: "2007 was an exceptional year for the UK market to Hong Kong and we are confident of building on this success in the coming 12 months."
Some of Hong Kong's most popular attractions include The Peak, a vantage point that offers spectacular views across the region, as well as the Hong Kong Disneyland park and the Jumbo Kingdom, one of the biggest floating restaurants in the world.
