London City Airport has received the title of Best UK Airport by readers of Wanderlust magazine.
The hub beat off competition from the likes of
Newcastle and
Bristol airports to win the coveted award earlier this month.
This award represents the third time in a row that London City has won the accolade and comes ahead of the launch of new
British Airways services to
Barcelona and
Warsaw this summer and
business class flights to New York next year.
"We are delighted that we have won yet again," commented London City strategy director Charles Buchanan.
He added: "It means so much more when awards are as a result of passenger opinions".
Last month, the
airport announced that 2007 was a record year in terms of passenger traffic, with a total of 2.9 million travellers passing through the hub last year.
