A 24-hour strike is currently affecting flights to and from
Greece.
The action by the Federation of Greek Workers and Civil Servants will continue until 22:00 GMT tonight (February 13th).
British Airways has said that its services to
Athens and
Thessaloniki will be disrupted, although flights over Greece will be running as normal.
Passengers have been urged to check their flight status before departing for the airport. Any customers booked on a cancelled flight can either rebook onto another British Airways service or apply for a refund.
The strike is taking place as part of a protest over worker rights regarding pensions.
In related news, an air controller strike in
France began earlier this week, which is causing disruption to certain flights to and from Orly Airport in
Paris until February 15th.
Air France has had to cancel a number of its short-haul flights as a result of the industrial action.
